It's the flying computer circus!

You may remember Commodore, Spectrum, and certainly the Amiga for sure, but do you still remember the Atari and Amstrad? If not, don’t worry!

The Computer Museum of Kallio in Helsinki presents a travelling computer exhibition I love 8-bit®. It is a functional and interactive presentation in which entertainment is an essential part of the experience. You can play, test, and have fun with old favorites. I love 8-bit® is much more than just old computers in action, it is an emotional experience for entire generations.

The exhibition focuses on the computer culture revolution that began in the 1970s. At that time, computers became commonplace in homes and businesses, permanently changing everyday life. The computer culture of that era taught entire generations how to program and use computers in their own way. Were things better back then? Find out at the I love 8-bit® exhibition!

The press article

The Saku computer magazine visited The Computer Museum of Kallio and the I love 8-bit® exhibition. According to the article, the museum’s exhibition offers a comprehensive and interesting overview of the history of information technology in a way that is both educational and entertaining.  As soon as you walk in, you get the impression that the people here are genuinely interested in computers and their stories— not just as objects, but as part of everyday life and culture.

The I love 8-bit® stands out in particular thanks to its relaxed atmosphere. The museum is not stiff or difficult to approach, but is suitable for visitors of all ages. Enthusiasts, nostalgics, and first-timers will all find something of interest. You can take your time getting to know the exhibits, and you can even try out many of the devices yourself, which makes for a lively and memorable experience. The Saku computer magazine praises the content of the exhibition. The museum displays many things that are rarely seen elsewhere: rare machines, old programs, and details from the history of information technology that are often overlooked in large museums. It is precisely these small but significant things that make the Kallio Computer Museum unique and memorable. All in all, Saku Computer Magazine’s visit to the Kallio Computer Museum reinforced the impression that this is a special place. The exhibition successfully combines information, experiential learning, and a relaxed atmosphere in a way that makes it a recommended destination for everyone, regardless of how deep their relationship with information technology already is.
